We are Nigeria’s financial markets association

We are the Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA), serving as the collective voice for Nigeria’s financial markets industry. For decades, we’ve worked to connect, represent, and support the institutions that form the backbone of our nation’s financial ecosystem.

Our purpose is to foster a robust and transparent financial marketplace in Nigeria. We facilitate dialogue among key stakeholders, help establish industry standards, and advocate for sound policies that support sustainable market development. When financial markets function well, businesses can access the capital they need, and opportunities expand across the economy.

We bring practical experience and institutional knowledge to the table. Our members operate daily in these markets, giving us firsthand understanding of both opportunities and obstacles. This allows us to represent industry perspectives with authenticity and relevance.

Our Objectives

To provide a meeting forum for all members in the financial institutions or Financial related dealing/trading occupations.

To provide a meeting forum for members dealing in Money, Securities, Bonds, Equity and Proprietary Trading and Foreign Exchange market institutions.

To create public awareness, thereby promoting the demand for Financial Market instruments.

To provide a forum for presenting the views of members on any matters/issue that may affect Money, Bonds, Equity Proprietary, Foreign Exchange Market Dealings, Swaps and Derivatives.

To contribute to the development of the Financial Markets through education, market practices, technical advice and networking events.

To increase awareness of the Money, Bonds, Equity Proprietary, Foreign Exchange Market dealing/trading activities and other related issues through seminars, lectures and other fora.

To collaborate as appropriate with government and other regulatory bodies in formulating policies on monetary issues and in carrying out Money, Bonds, Equity Proprietary, Foreign Exchange Market functions and the likes.
